I recently jailbroke my iPhone 3G on a fresh restore of 3.1.2 using Blackra1n RC1 and ever since I've wanted to throw my iPhone through a window.

Every application I hope including Settings, when I try to close them they hang for about 5-10 seconds before closing. Even if I'm accessing Terminal and use the quit command it'll hang and hang before closing. Could this be caused by using the RC1? Should I do a restore and jailbreak using the newer version?

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Maybe you got signed out of your itunes account when you set it up as new? I think there's somewhere in settings where you can check your account and sign back in if necessary.

Would that affect all applications though? I wouldn't think so. Sounds like a do-over to me.
