Every now and then I have to pull and re-insert my audio-out cable

Probably only 3-4 times since I got my 27" Retina iMac. I've suddenly noticed there is no sound. I run a 3.5mm audio-out cable to my HiFi. I've determined simply pulling the cable and re-inserting fixes it. Changing sound-out to another output and back does NOT resolve it, only physically removing the cable.

Has anyone ever heard of this issue, it's a bit weird? I'm running Big Sur.
