All iPads Excel on IPad - how do I shortcut for a “date stamp” entry?

Hi All,

Tried to use excel for 1st time on ipad - not great 1st experience


how do I shortcut for a “date stamp” entry?

This is a key entry I use for simple diary tables


On Windows 10, its “control + ;” - and the date is returned in the cell


Hope you can help - this item is a deal breaker for me using excel on iPad 😢

Knowing how limited Excel is on iPadOS, there might not be a shortcut for "date stamp" entry.

Microsoft's office team is 100% lazy when it comes to the iPad. I do apologize. At the moment, none of the MS office apps fully support iPadOS and keyboard.

The Control + key does not work, but the =TODAY() function does.

Not really a short cut but the =Today() works.

Bit rubbish of Microsoft, should be a polished application, people pay good money for it

MSFT did mention that they are updating the iPad apps by the end of 2020.
