I bought a Macbook pro 13 inch 2 months ago. I have a 3G (cell c) dongle with 2 gig per month. Lately my data will just be used up very quick. Sometimes as fast as 20 mb in 30 sec without my internet or e-mail open. I have switched off my updates, but it would still use alot of data. I have found that if I restart the computer that it would work normal for a while but then it would revert back after a while.
Can this be a virus? Any advice?

No viruses exist in the wild that can run on Mac OS X, and there never have been any, since it was released 10 years ago. The handful of trojans that exist can be easily avoided with some basic education, common sense and care in what software you install:
Launch Activity Monitor and change "My Processes" at the top to "All Processes". Then look to see what apps/processes may be accessing the internet. You can also install Little Snitch to identify and restrict apps that access the web.
