Exchange black iphone for white

Tomorrow i will be going to an apple store to try to get my black 16gb iphone replaced because its battery life is becoming just unacceptable. i got it day one and since then its been performing okay, but now I'm getting 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 hours of battery life from listening to music for about 2 1/2 hours, and a total of about half an hour of Internet on WiFi, and the occasional phone call. and some days i hardly do anything and by the end of the day i have a half to a quarter of battery left.

I just wanted to know when i get my exchange if i can request for a white iphone? or does my exchange have to be the same exact model?

I don't know if this is across the board or just at my local Apple store, but I was told that they would not do that, that you had to get an exact replacement for the one you're bringing in. Thats just what I was told when I asked.

In theory it has to be for the exact same one, but you might get someone who will help you out considering the issues you're having.

Ok then. I could live with a black one. I just hope that they will replace it because this battery is horrible. Unless every iPhone 3g is this bad.

What you could do is get the black one keep it in the box and find someone in the store wanting to buy the black and tell them to buy the white and you'll swap.... good idea?

when you exchange your iPhone you dont get a new one out of the box, it comes in a white box and they just take it out and hand it to you so this wont work, unless you have your original box with all the wrapping etc.
