Damn this is annoying. Everytime I setup exchange on my machine it immediately synchs and blows away my contacts. I've tried everything I can think of and it keeps doing it. I've restored like 5 times today trying to get around it with no luck at all....

sigh. Anyone else? Solutions??

Well there appears to be no way around it unless you go into outlook and add all your contacts there. Then and only then does it show up. The unfortunate thing is that if you shut off the sync with outlook it wipes your contacts AGAIN...this is some ******** configuration as far as I'm concerned. Apple should be ashamed...I have no way to import contacts from my iphone into outlook and if I get another job I'll lose my contacts (I thinK).

I think I found an answer...

Going into settings, mail, scroll down to Import SIM contacts... I have not tested it but it would make sense that it would load your SIM card contacts with your exchange contacts.

*edit*

I just tried it and that did not work... perhaps one has to save contacts to the sim (it is not automatically written, I guess)?

Adding your contacts to your Exchange account would solve the problem. I just went through and did that for mine.
