Just like with your iPhone. You can select them all (one by one) not like a shortcut to select all at once. B. You can delete your trash just like you do from your inbox. Swipe to delete or press the edit button and delete as many as you like

Even on the Palm Pre you can do an empty trash. I am surprised that Apple hasn't added this function in yet.
