Loving my iPad, but I'm a little confused about the battery life I've been getting. With Wi-Fi on, video playing, and screen at 3/4 brightness, I get an 18% dent on my battery per hour. My iPad is usually dead in less than 6 hours. Do you guys think this is grounds for an exchange? Would I just go there and ask for a new one, or should I make a Genius appointment?

I'm reading reviews and personal accounts of people getting 9+ hours watching video, and I'm just not seeing it. Even browsing the web for the last hour I've seen a 13% decrease from fully charged.

Just want to be getting the most out of the device. Thanks for the help!

Battery life does drain fast...the MacBook only lasts 6 hours off of the wall with competitive use!

I agree that it's probably the screen eating your battery. I have mine at about 1/4 brightness, can see it just fine, and can stream netflix for about 8 hours straight.

Cool, will try with brightness turned down.

Ok guys, so I turned my brightness down to 50%, charged my iPad to 100%, and let video run (through Videos app, not netflix, and a ripped copy of Watchmen, so not HD). 3.5 hours later and I am at 33% battery, which is the same if not worse than before. Could it be something on my end that I'm doing wrong? Maybe a setting that I don't realize I have on that is draining the battery so much? Otherwise why would lowering the brightness 25% not increase battery life in the slightest?

If you're not happy, just take it back and swap it out. Hopefully you'll have better luck with the next one.

I would go ahead and return it if I were you, based off of what I have been reading, your battery sounds like it is draining rather quickly. I would go to where you got it and explain what happened.
