Exchanging Defective iPad 3G

I bought a 3G + Wifi iPad and the Wifi grayed out. There is no option to turn wifi on or off. I"m going to take it back to Apple Store tonight to exchange it.

My question is: What happened to the 30 days unlimited 3G service that I had prepaid? Can I take it with me by swapping the sim card, like a phone?

Yes, that info should be stored on your sim. Pop it in the new ipad and it should be ready to go.

I would call said Apple Store before your visit, and see if they have any iPads to trade you. They may not have any stock even for warranty exchanges.

That said, they should let you move your SIM card to the new iPad.

No. It was set up as a new device just a few days ago. I did try reset network settings.

they are going to try it anyway to rule out a software problem, it wouldnt hurt to give it a shot.
