well my iPod just rebooted itself then came up with a picture of a sad face and an exclimation mark! It was completly unresponsive and would not even show up when I plugged into my mac. Thought for sure it was ready for iPod heaven. I got upset and threw it at the couch where it bounced off did a triple axle and hit the hardwood floor. When I went to pick it up the thing was on and works fine now. So before you conclude your iPod is dead throw it at something:D

Kind of a useless post but I'm just so happy my lil' iPod is still kickin':)

I take it it's a hard drive based iPod?

I kept my 4G 40GB iPod going for about 18 months by hitting on things.

Then one day it totally failed...

It's a sign the drive is dying and the more you shock it back into life the worse the drive will get.

I think it might be flash I'm not even sure:confused: I've had it for almost 4 years and beat the heck outta' the poor guy on a daily basis. It will be a sad day when it does go...
