Exclusive: Upcoming Apple TV loses 1080p playback, gains apps... and will be renamed

Engadget is claiming that the iTV is coming this fall and will have the A4 processor, lose 1080p/I playback and will also have an app store.

Sounds fine to me. I've got no problems with low storage space, I only use my ATV for streaming anyways, and I don't care about 1080p as much as I care about being able to do 29.97fps 720p.

maybe i'm lacking imagination, but what do you think the new iTV will offer that the existing ATV doesn't now, apart from a 50" version of angry birds?

any predictions?

From what I've read this new iTV will be a POS. i think I will get Google TV next.
