Hello everyone!
I don't know if this has been already talked about, but I purchased a USB flash drive and could format it with ExFAT filesystem on my new iMac 27" i5 mid 2010 with all Apple updates installed. When I tried to read the flash drive on my Hackintosh with 10.6.4 OS X couldn't read the drive, so I think there is a specific update included with mid 2010 iMacs.
Here are some screenshots:

Yes I can exfat on my new iMac 27" Intel I5 system. It must have something to do with the new systems. I also have an older Mac Pro, Intel core 2 duo, that doesn't have the capability. Both are running fully updated 10.6.4

I've looked a bit online and haven't yet found an explanation, but perhaps in 10.6.5 we'll see it propagate.

Do you guys think macbook pros will get this in 10.6.5? This would solve all my mac and pc compatibility issues. (I use macdrive but would rather have something that natively works)

WD 1TB drive in exFAT not working on my 10.6.4 mid 2010 iMac... any suggestions?

Working in a small office with one user heavy PC and then me... lots of large AV files.

Thanks!
