I'm posting here in the hope that this is the correct forum.

I have a bunch of photographs made by different cameras and would like to PDF them into one big file so that I can review them whenever I want without fidgeting with multiple files (or iPhoto latest version that I cannot understand).

Problem is the EXIF AUTOROTATE is getting in the way. I have rotated all the pictures to be the right side up for me, but PREVIEW seems to decide that it needs to revert back to the original EXIF setting when it generates the PDF.

I'm supposing the different cameras do not agree on how this is set, or that the photos (very possible) were on occasions taken with an upside-down camera.

I'm wondering if there is a tool out there that will allow me to change the EXIF AUTOROTATE to the same value for all the photos based on their current JPEG orientation as shown by PREVIEW.

Google seems to indicate that there is some problem here, but there is not real working solution.

At least the PREVIEW PRINT disable autorotate does not pull it.

:-(

How have you been rotating to how you want?

Also, I have to ask but are multiple PDFs the best way to archive your collection?

I think I have to clarify;

- trying to make 1 single PDF of all the pictures

- pictures rotated in Preview

- it's when I print to PDF that the pictures are returned to their original orientation even if I set the autorotate option on the print dialog to off

Are you saving each picture in preview after rotating it? The PDF is created only from the last saved state so despite it looking rotated, its not actually captured until you have hit save.

I don't know if its still this way, but in the past if you had a bunch of jpegs open in Preview, you would have to save each one individually for the changes to be saved.

....

Also, make sure that nothing set in the Print... dialog is causing Preview to rotate the images to better fit the page.

This is along the lines of what I was thinking.
