Other Expected battery life for new small iPhone 12

Any thoughts on battery life for the new smaller iPhone? Is it expected to be better than the SE2?

I know nobody knows yet but I like speculating and this could be the deciding factor for me between the SE2 and the small iPhone 12
 
It will undoubtedly have the shortest run time of all currently available iPhones. The battery is so much smaller but still using the same CPU

Edit: pray tell, how can unfounded speculation be the basis for any kind of purchasing decision?

I wouldn’t mind. A bandaid solution is for them to make a battery case, slap it on and the phone will still be small regardless.
 
I hope its not a regression from 11 Pro's, that supposedly set a new standard where I think a lot of people expect serious battery life from their flagship devices.

Who knows though
 
A14 is now clocked to 3GHz, so it's not going to help.

I don't expect the iPhone 12 mini to be as bad as the SE2, but it won't outperform the X or XS either.

If it gets at least 6 hours of screen on time, that’s good enough. I don’t think apple will advertise it having all day battery.
 
The 2020 iPhone SE has ~1800 mAh battery and according to Macrumours iPhone 12 5.4" is getting ~2200 mAh. I know there are lot more factors to consider, 1-2 hours more screen time would be a decent bet.

Probably just a bit better than SE 2. Good thing is put the most thinnest battery case you can find on and it’s still a small phone.

The iPhone 12 mini is expected to have a 2227 mAh battery.
The slightly smaller iPhone SE 1 (2016) has great battery life with a 1624 mAh battery.
On that basis I expect the iPhone 12 mini battery life will be fine.

iPhone 12 mini Battery Life.

(I’m assuming all phones have fresh batteries with 0 cycles unless specified otherwise)

Will be better than:

iPhone X on iOS 11
iPhone XS on iOS 12
iPhone SE on iOS 13
iPhone 8+ on iOS 12/13

Will be roughly along the lines of:

iPhone XR on iOS 14
Aged 1 year old iPhone 11 Pro on iOS 14
iPhone 8+ on iOS 11
iPhone XS Max on iOS 12

Will be worse than:

iPhone XR on iOS 12
iPhone 11 Pro on iOS 13

  • iPhone X: >80% screen to body ratio

So how long have you actually had it to test it and give us these results?
