Hi all,
I purchased a MBP Core Duo Rev A last July. It's got some issues and I'm finally ready to get them fixed, but want to make the process as fast as possible. Could I possibly call AppleCare, then drop it off at an AppleStore in NJ/NY to have my MBP fixed faster or can I only ship it to Apple?

My MBP is suffering from:
-black spots near the trackpad, seems the aluminum corroded - very ugly looking
-when not plugged in, MBP shuts down after 5 minutes (resetting power management didn't help)

Thanks!

I'm also having problems getting the MBP out of sleep sometimes - it won't turn back on!

My MBP is in for repair, too. :) (& also a Rev A)

You can have APC overnight you a box or you can take it to the Genius Bar. Most likely the Genius Bar will decide it has to be sent in and will just package it all up and send it out for you.

If you have an Apple Store near, that might be faster than waiting for Apple to send out a box, etc. Otherwise, just have them send out a box.

If I had to guess, I'd *imagine* that if anything the computers sent out from the Genius Bar are processed faster. It is probably just the same time, though.

One thing I wanted to add was when I took my MBP to the Genius Bar (only for them to send it out) I noticed they treated it kind of roughly compared to how I baby mine. If that bothers you, it might be better to send it out yourself. (Of course it may have been just the guy I had)
