Hey all,

I just started looking around that site today, after hearing a little about it, and wow...it's like the holy grail for leather watch straps. Anybody any experience with dealing with people on there? Is it as smooth a transition as Ebay or Amazon? Any sellers to stay away from?

I have bought a few items (not Apple related) off of Esty but that was a long time ago. I know on ebay and I think Amazon you have probably more protection should your purchase go south. Also they may offer more in the way of payment options. Esty does have unique items that you can't always find on the other two. I've seen a number of people mention buying bands off of Esty so sure they will see your thread.

I've bought stuff off Esty over the past 4-5 years. All smooth transactions with the exception of one and that really had to do with the seller mis-stating the size of something and asking me to pay to ship it back to fix and pay to ship it to me once more. Either way, I find that place to be easy enough to buy from and I wouldn't really hesitate on purchasing something like a watch band from there either.

I've gotten a few cases for my iPads from Etsy....nice quality but there's a 2 week turn around time for delivery. That's the only con

It is somewhat like eBay and the experience will depend on the seller. I did order straps from Vietnam on Etsy and they promised free express shipping for 2 or more purchases. I actually got my band in about 2 days after I completed the transaction.

That actually varies per shop, and per item.

In my shop (not Apple stuff), some items I have done and they have a 3-5 day ship, if I have to make it when you order it might have a 1-2 week timeline. Since everything is SUPPOSED to be handmade, it is understandable for the lead time.

In general I've not heard complaints about the complaint process if anyone has to file, I have no experience with that myself.

I've had nothing but good experiences with buying this off of Easy. Never anything Apple related, but always got quality stuff and great communication from all of the sellers I've dealt with. Just check the feedback before settling on one.

Well, so far so good. Dealt with an American seller and things turned out okay. Someone else here did the same thing, but unfortunately the seller had a problem responding to emails.

Wondering if communication would be more of an issue with these international sellers.

I buy and sell on Etsy all the time and have never had an problem. most of my transactions have been with US sellers but the few I've had with international sellers have been easy and without issues.
