Hey.

I have been thinking about getting the M1 air, but my current setup has a secondary monitor (4 year old Dell 27 inch 1440p IPS) and is currently using it for having browser open, PDF documents etc.

I was wondering how a display link adapter works for a secondary monitor for the M1.

Will it be sufficient or should i wait for the updated Air/MBP that supports 2 monitors?

It may be sufficient. It depends on your subjective opinion. There may be issues with playing DRM content, etc. There are other posts about M1 Macs and DisplayLink that you should search for.

Just google "displaylink" "m1"

Thanks for the reply.

Given my use case with using a 4k monitor as a primary and a secondary for more static content and we browsing the displaylink solution seems fine.
