Wow. I love my iPhone 5, but now I'm definitely missing Google Maps.

Because they are mapping the ocean? This is absolutely pointless unless you own a ****ing submarine.

I think, more than anything, this is a statement of how advanced and far ahead Google Maps is compared to Apple Maps.

Classic response. If the competition does it, who needs it? I bet if Apple did this, you'd be singing a different tune.

Also... Flyover. So you must own a helicopter. lulz.

Oh joy. More panoramic views of useless crap that will be updated like once every 2 years (if at all).

Google: Fix the issues on the surface where I drive and live before you go chasing plankton.

People who think this is pointless are very close minded.

When you next book a holiday, you can scope out what it looks like. This level of view you cannot get on marketing material. IF anything marketing material shows you the best possible shots, and when you usually turn up, its nothing like the pictures.

This is an awesome idea.

For those that never travel, this is wasted on you! You can spend your time reporting problems for Apple maps, I got better things to do with my spare time.

Unless you're planning on scuba diving on your "holiday," it's pointless... especially for Google Maps. Google EARTH, sure. Although if this worked underwater (or could be downloaded for offline use) I suppose it could be useful for finding your way back to your boat.

Then again, I'm not a "beachy" traveler, so...

Nice.

I don't see why everything has to turn into an Apple vs Google thing, but whatever floats your boat, I guess.

I'm glad people are catching on to the inconsistencies of certain Apple fans.

If others push new technologies (e.g., LTE, NFC) or try to innovate software wise (e.g., Google Maps Ocean, Smart Stay, etc.) then it's silly, not ready, or unnecessary.

But if Apple tries to do the same (Thunderbolt port? Flyover?) then they're heralded as pushing the frontiers.

People aren't going to sit idly with this sort of intellectual dishonesty, which, in my opinion, is actually detrimental to Apple.

Once again, what does Apple have to do with this? You two are the only ones bringing up Apple, and then complaining about how "everything is about Apple around here." It wouldn't be, if you guys would worry less about fanboys and more about Google Ocean Maps (?).

Let it go.
