Export Quicktime to iPod (m4v, h.264) STREAMING

I have to load up 3GB of video for our web site.
Would be nice to replace all of our WMV files with h.264.
Clients can then choose to a) download and play in iTunes/iPod, or b) stream from their browser. Eliminates duplicate files.

QUESTION: How do you add Hinted tracks to the iPod Export File so they will both play in iPod and Stream from the web?

Will Handbrake do the job?

Good question! I want to do the same with our company website, replace all those ugly previews with the nice ipod format

In the quicktime exporter, select mpeg-4. Then Set the resolution to 320x240on h.264, bitrate around 500, audio codec to aac-lc at 128, and then enable streaming from the third tab. You can rename the file for the iPod m4v afterward.

Toast 7 has a batch export option which can take all your videos and export to MPEG4 or H.264... either of which will work on iPod.

saves you money if you already have toast 7....good thing i have both...

my problem is, why the hell does it take so damn long to do a video into ipod format in quicktime pro? IT COST $30! Shouldn't it do things faster for you?
I've been using mpeg streamclip for about 5 days now. I love it! works at about the real time of the video, sometimes longer, but it gives you a pretty good status menu and its much faster than quicktime pro.

mpeg streamclip is also a good option... but don't you have to buy the mpeg2 decoder component from apple for $20 for that?

my point was that toast has everything you need in it... has an mpeg encoder and decoder, a divx decoder, ac3 decoder... so you can pretty much throw any file against it and get the results you want.
