Hello everyone! First time posting here, and with that said please do forgive me if I've chosen the wrong forum group or if this sort of post isn't really allowed. So I'm sure we're all aware of how about a year and a half ago Tumblr changed owners and there was a sort of mass exodus from many of us there. I did at the time export my entire blog which they housed in a ZIP folder and kept it on my external HD for safekeeping. But my question is...what's the best option now? I'm feeling nostalgic lately and would like to be able to enjoy a sort of slideshow or "digital scrapbook" with these old photos but Google is unfortunately not helping so far.
One thing I had been doing with some minor bit of success was uploading everything in that "media" folder in the ZIP file (that wasn't an audio file) to my Amazon Photos account and letting it play as a shuffled slideshow thru the FireStick on my HDTV. That worked pretty well except, of course, the animated GIFs don't move. I even spent a few hours last night "converting" each of those to a "live photo" via GIPHY on my iPhone but when testing out on the FireStick later, they still don't move.
So my question is: what in the world can I use to achieve what I'm trying to here? A cloud-based photo storage such as Amazon Photos would be ideal, but I want to make sure those GIFs are animated and moving too. Is there a way to burn a sort of "slideshow" like this to a DVD-R or blu-ray, and be able to play it on shuffle? Just looking for some better options here.
Thanks for your time and I look forward to your suggestions xxtyler
