oh oh i found a card that is made especially for the mbp. only reason i didnt get it was was because it was in america and i am not. i shall try my hardest to find the link. it was express 54 aswell so u get added speed.
Apogee recently released a sound card created specifically for the MBPs ExpressCard slot. It's ghastly expensive, though, and it's meant to go along with the rest of their high-end audioware.
but to answer your question, yes, it does work in OSX.
The cheap $6 usb sound card I got off ebay works with my imac without any drivers. Its not higher quality but it works.
So I guess most/any usb cards with work with OSX.
