I am planning the purchase of my 1st Mac anything and I have decided on a Macbook Air 13" with all the bells and whistles. I was wondering if it is worth the cost to purchase the extended warranty from Apple. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

you have up to a year to buy the extended warranty. buy it during month 11-12 before the standard 1 year expires. yes, it is worth it

It's a very personal choice; some find the peace-of-mind worth the price, others do not.

Personally, I'm of the opinion that warranties or insurance are only worth buying on items one cannot afford to readily replace (houses, automobiles, lives, etc.).

Also, some credit card companies will automatically extend manufacturer's warranties by an additional year (if you purchase the item using your credit card, of course). You may want to check to see if your card is one of them; if this was the case, Apple Care might not be worth the price, because you would only be buying one additional year.

Credit card extended warranty

Thanks for your help. I had forgot but you are right my credit card does double the manufacturers warranty.
