Extending airport range

how do I go about extending my wifi range?

I currently have an airport extreme (5thgen) connected to my broadband gateway but it's in my tv cabinet which seems to reduce my signal. I have an airport express in my loft that links all my media server and backup stuff into the network.*

is the best way to buy another airport express and connect it to the extreme via Ethernet? or can it be done utilising my existing one in the loft via wifi?

N Band range/coverage has always been painful for me.

I have an Express, Extreeme and Time capsule physically wired (Gigabit for various other reasons - nas etc.) and using the airport setup toolset have them all offering the same Wifi service.

Sounds simular to what you need by the sounds of it.

You can use similar apple products to repeat the wireless signal. Maybe this is an approach you could try? One in the loft, then another on the landing (or whatever the US calls them - top of the stairs), and then it can repeat to the bottom of your house.

Express vía Ethernet

I have found that using the Express connected to an Extreme via Ethernet does a good job at extending the range of the wireless. I was not so successful when I tried to do it via wireless, although that may be possible. If you are luck enough to have Ethernet wired to your extended location, that would be your best bet.
