I just learned that my extended warranty will expire in January and Apple doesn't permit any further extensions (even if I pay for it). Where can I get an extended warranty beyond the one in place now?

I bought the extended warranty from Apple and only used it for technical questions about three times and it cost $169.00.

Apple won't extend the warranty beyond the 3 years that Apple Care gives you post initial purchase. It's unlikely you will find any other place that will give you a decent warranty on a 3 year old computer.

Bearing in mind the increased potential for breakdowns of a machine over three years old, it's pretty obvious why companies do not offer such warranties.
