I have an Apple TV box in my shop behind the house hooked up to a 47" TV with HDMI cable and a cheapy audio receiver connected with an optical cable.

I use my iphone to stream Pandora or my music to the Apple TV. Problem is my Wi-Fi signal is dicey out back and I tend to lose signal a lot, causing my music to break up bad.

I've read here on these forums that a new Airport express would extend the range of my Wi-Fi so I went and purchased one. I plugged it in out back and it connects to my Time Capsule no problem.

The problem is I'm not sure what to do next (I'm a serious computer idiot). I can hook up to the Airport Express network from the airplay button on my phone, but get no audio to the Apple TV.

Am I supposed to hook up the AE to the Apple TV directly? I tried an ethernet cable from the Apple TV to the AE and it seems to be connected to the internet after that, but I dont get any audio output if I select "airport express" network from the airplay button. I can still get audio using my home Wi-Fi network from the airplay button, but the signal breaks up as I get outside the house.

I hope that makes sense! Remember, I really am a computer idiot.

Maybe some one could give a brief tutorial on using an Airport Express to extend the range of my Wi-Fi so I can use my Apple TV out back in my shop??

Any help would be appreciated.
