hi

what is the iphone, or touch, like to use for several hours or more a day? i understand the screen quality and ease of use are parts of the unique charm. i wondered if the small screen does things to your eyes after a while....

as a prospective buyer i would hate to buy either and find my eyes got sore quickly....i realize i wouldn't be staring at it All the time...

interested in people's experiences.....whether most people can happily use them for long periods of time with little side effects....iphone or touch.......any difference between the two in these regards?.....

cheers :p

I can (and do) use mine all day at school (about 6.5 hours). If you turn the brightness down to the lowest setting where you can still see the screen your eyes won't be affected as much.

As the other posters suggested, turning down the brightness does help with eye strain if you are looking at it for extended periods of time. I don't think I use it as much as others as I tend to have a laptop with me most of the time, but when I do use it for extended periods of time, I seem to be okay-- you just need to experiment with it and find the settings which work for you.

Can you go to a store and play with it for a while? I realize you won't want to hang out there for hours, but just to get a feel for it and see if it is something you would like?

thanks for the input....i've never had a mobile, and only used crt type screens on my home macs...i really need to play with them for an extended amount of time...

might try the touch...it's not so well built i feel but if there's 3G on the way for the iphone this would be the better option to try and see how i get on...

Some phone screens do hurt your eyes, but not the one on the iphone or ipod touch. These ones are great: amazing looking screens.

In the same line, what about extensive usage vs. battery life? I know that if you turn down the brightness, the battery will last longer, and help with eye strain.

What if you use the phone on the interenet multiple hours a day, and use it as a phone too, will the battery last all day?
