I've got an old 2015 MacBook Pro Retina (bought it new in 2015). I run Parallels/Windows 10 for work related tasks - and that sucks the battery life real fast. I'm wondering if there is such a thing as an external battery that could be used with my MacBook for extended battery use.

I have seen these inverter battery supplies that produce 120VAC - but was curious if there was something more specific to the MacBook Pro. For example, is there an external battery that can plug directly in to the MagSafe port?

I'm guessing MagSafe? If yes. You're in luck. Since there are type c to MagSafe 1 or 2 cables sold in the internet. I used to use them for my old MBA 2014 . Just make sure to get a cable that has the max wattage as much as your laptop can handle or more (since some only supports 45w etc. Check the specs listed) . Also make sure to use a PD powerbank that can provide that power. It will work fine

Yeah, my 2015 MacBook Pro has a MagSafe port (used for the power supply) - one of MANY reasons I never bought a new MacBook Pro.

I'm a bit confused over your answer. I'm asking if an external battery that can power my 2015 MacBook Pro exists. Preferably a battery power supply that can connect direct to the MagSafe port. Is the "PD powerbank" a battery?

So. PD powerbank is a normal powerbank with type c output. But usually some of them have different max wattage output for the PD one. You need to find one that's as much as you want . Minimum for MagSafe 2 is 45w PD powerbank.

Idk your laptop's MagSafe specs but, if say your normal MagSafe wattage is 85w. And you want a powerbank that can supply that power. You need to find a PD powerbank that can output 85w PD or higher. Also the type C to MagSafe cable needs to support 85w (usually on the internet. They have a spec on the cable if it supports higher wattages or just 45w)

ah.. Okay. Yeah, pretty sure my AC power supply for the 2015 MacBook Pro is an 85W (that sounds familiar). So, yeah, I'd have to get a PD that's at least 85 Watts - along with an C to MagSafe adaptor that can handle the power. Thanks for the help!
