External BT Dongle for 2018?

Seems like my BT issues are getting worse. Mac Mini is on my desk, maybe a foot from where my keyboard and mouse sit.

Magic Mouse and keyboard v 2, fully charged.

Just disconnect then reconnect.

nothing plugged into USB ports. I have a USB hub plugged into an adapter plugged into a USB C port.

I want to try an external BT adapter. Which one should I get? And will my Apple Watch still unlock it?

Is your wireless router close by? It could be interfering... try switching your Mini from 2.4Ghz to 5GHz if you have the option in your router.
