I need to transfer my CD collection to my Mac Mini. Does anyone have a recommendation for an external CD/DVD player?

CD players won't work...unless you meant to say "external DVD/CD-ROM drive." Any of them should work. Don't pay more than $40. If you already have another Mac with a drive, just use that. When you're ripping, give that drive a break every now and then, or you might burn it out.

My old G4 is dead so I just bought the Mini. I'm still shocked that these do not come with a cd/dvd drive!

There's the over-priced Apple Superdrive.

I was just wondering what other brands would work well. Any USB 3 drives?

Do Blu-ray drives play old DVDs and CDs? Would a Blu-ray drive be good for back up?

I use a cheap AmazonBasics one. Works great. Thinking about moving up to a cBear Blu-ray drive, though.
