External CFexpress card won't mount in Ventura 13.0.1. Disk Utility shows it as SSD

I just got a Mac Studio M1 Max with Ventura 13.0.1 OS. My Anglebird CFexpress reader and CFepress card keep getting a "disk you attached was not readable by this computer" message when I try to access it. It's connected via the USB3 slot on the front. It shows up in Disk Utility as a solid state drive. Not sure what's going on. Any help/advice would be appreciated.

It's probably formatted for Windows.

Have you reformatted the card in Disk Utility (suggest GUID partition format and APFS)? Pay particular attention to steps 5 and 6.
