I've just updated my MBP (2017, 13") to from Mojave to Monterey 12.13.1 and the image quality on my external monitor (Samsung C24F390) went to hell. I'm not even talking graphics, but even Word documents look just pixelated and blurry. Any idea of what might have happened? How can I bring the image quality to what it was before the "upgrade"?

In addition to what Rockadile said in reply 4, you can try to create a custom display color profile.

Do this:
1. open system preferences
2. click displays
3. click "color"
4. HOLD DOWN THE OPTION KEY and click "calibrate"
5. "expert mode" should be checked, so click "continue" and "follow through".

See if that produces an output you like.

2 things:

1. What is your screen resolution set to?
2. Is HDR turned on? Turn it OFF if it is.
