I'm going to get an external display + keyboard/mm soon for my 12" powerbook g4, but I don't really know what to get. Any recommendations?

(No ACD, kind of need to eat in addition to staring at my computer :).)
 
Mmm.. that 2005FPW does look nice. Anyone else have anything a little cheaper?
 
If you want a good display whilst saving money. The Dell displays are your best bet. However, dell releases lots of coupons so i'd wait and search around for those. Goodluck
 
I mated my 12" (and now 15") to a dell 2005 and love it. Check dealmac as well; they've had a couple of other 20" lcd's recently for the $275-350 range.
 
You can find the 2007fwp for $390 shipped right now with a coupon if that's what interests ya. Check it out.

I should also mention that I have 2 17" LCDs on the market right now. Search for me in the marketplace or PM if you're interested.
 
i second, third or fourth the 2007 (new version of the 2005) great monitor and the price cant be beat if you have coupons or sales. if thats too big or still too much green, then go for a smaller dell. the only one that has a better chance of being cheaper are no-name brands that may or may not last longer than their 3 month warrantee. so dell in my opinion is the safest bet for a good monitor at a cheap price.

How long do those coupons usually last? Would ordering it in a week maybe still be good?

It's probably good for a couple days tops, but if it expires and you wait there will be another one. Check with dealmac.com and/or dealcoupon.com daily to keep up with it (and deals on all sorts of other great stuff!).
 
Got my keyboard and mighty mouse. Just waiting to figure out the whole external display thing -- possibly for the birthday + my own money. Mmmm.
