Hi;

I have several external drives that I use on several computers. One external won't mount on my iMac but will mount on other laptops. All are running El Capitan. This problem did not occur till I recently updated to El Capitan.

Any help is much appreciated.

Try all of your usb ports. There have been some intermittent usb drive issues with EL Cap in some versions.

Happens to me every couple days or so. I power cycle the drive and it almost always mounts. Unfortunately my newer drives lack a power switch so I have to plug the wall wart plug to power down and plug it back it.

Ya know what? Now it's working. Restarted the iMac and it's good to go. However, I do have another related issue which I will post in a separate thread.

One of my MBP USB ports suddenly quit recognizing my wired mouse but does recognize my iPhone, and this just began to happen with the most recent public El Cap release.
