Hey everyone,

I am looking for recommendations on an external (USB or Firewire) dual layer dvd burner. I am looking to spend around or less than $100. I am sure there are many out there that would do the job, but just wondering if there were any ones that you have had good luck with. Thanks for any recommendations in advance,

Kevin

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply!

I didn't even think of buying an internal drive and a case, which is dumb because I have multiple external hard drives that I built in that manner. I suppose any highly rated interval drive and external case would work out fine. I am surprised at how expensive the dual layer blank disks still are, so I would certainly value a very reliable burner that does not waste many disks!

Thanks for the suggestion.

Kevin

As of 10.4 and iLife 06 - Apple supports most all DVD burners. There was a DVD codec licensing issue (or something like that) that the MPAA was keeping apple from supporting 3rd Party DVD burners in iDVD. I assume that's been dealt with now that iDVD supports an DVD burner.

My 16x DL Memorex drive won't work in iDVD but does with everything else...
