Hi.
So i know there are no official e GPUs as yet and its not OS supoorted for now, but I'm wondering about some estimates with regards to Thunderbolt 2 usage with one. I see that they will be able to be used with TB2.
Im wondering if there's hope that adding an eGpu later in the year on a thunderbolt 2 machine would be potentially good for my current 4k video editing workflow (where I'm currently using proxies a lot due to many layers + effects in FCPX). I currently have a fully loaded 2015 27 inch skylake machine with a thunderbolt 2 RAID 0 drive setup.
Is anybody here using the unsupported egpu models? Is it realistic to expect a good bit of performance boost for FCPX or Lightroom? Im quite confused about this whole thing and would lobe to not have to upgrade my current machine for a boost in performance.
Any help is appreciated!
