External Hard Drive Playback

I am setting up a home theater system using a Mac Mini and will be using an external 2 slot-raid 1 to house the movies and tv shows which will be connected via Firewire 800.

I was wondering if the WD Caviar Green drives will give good playback or if I need to get something faster?

The external drive itself will not be the bottleneck.

You won't have any issues. As was said above, the bottleneck won't be the hard drive.

For what it's worth, my entire library is on an external hard drive and I never experience speed issues.
