Hello, sorry if this has been asked before, I cannot seem to find anything on here. If I have my iTunes music library (mac) stored on an external hard drive [space restriction], and I were to purchase a new Mac how do I tell it to recognize my library on the external.

Do I need to copy the library from the external back onto the hard drive on the new computer? Or could I use my iPod video to transfer the library?

If I would like to keep the library on the external hard drive, how I do I "reference" the library to the computer? When I get the new computer should I just try to open a music file in iTunes from the external? Does anyone know what happens if I did that?

Thanks.
