Hi All
I am looking to get an external HDD for a modified mac mini. I am thinking of removing the 120gb std hdd in the mini and replacing this with a SSD, coupled with 4GB of RAM to speed things up (will be 2.26ghz). Im guessing the capacity of this will be aroung 60-80 gb and will only be used for the OS.
Therefore I need an external HDD and was looking at this
Iomega MiniMax Hard Drive, FireWire/USB 1TB
Iomega MiniMax Hard Drive, FireWire/USB 1TB - Apple Store (U.K.)
It will be stacked with the mini and connected by FW 400.. that will be fine. However, I would like to partition it and share its storage with my 40gb PS3.
As the PS3 has an ethernet port at the back, is it possible to get some sort of cable to go from the HDD's FW400 to the PS3's Ethernet?? will the Ps3 recognise the HDD through ethernet? or will I have to use the USBs on the ps3. My reasoning for not wanting to do this is because the ps3 has its usb's at the front and it will look unsightly
I've looked around and this HDD seems to be the best choice from what I could find..? If anyone disagrees, please educate me
thks
Dave
