Hi,
I just purchased a Studio Max with the Display. I had a 2009 iMac which was working, but is not supported and I could not update Photoshop nor Lightroom. I am a bird photographer hobbyist and store bird photos and family photos. I am currently reading and trying to understand all this new technology of Thunderbolt and all the new connections available.
I currently have three external mirrored hard drives for birds and two (mirrored) for my family photos. I think they are USB 3 as they have blue in their connection cables. I would like to little by little update these drives to take advantage of the Studio capabilities. Right now I have a limited budget from buying the computer and display, so I thought I would start with at least two main external drives, one for birds and the other family and continue backing up to my old drives. I just bought a https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NYFZMZL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 for Time Machine (I hope that will do).
So I would appreciate to anyone that can suggest how I can start buying wisely and options where my photos would be secure and would be faster for working. I've read about enclosures which I don't understand and are pretty expensive. I love technology and used to be pretty up to date, but now I'm 70 (not the same!) and this Studio, which I love and it flies with Lightroom and Photoshop!, has so many new things I have to slowly catch up with
Right now I would need two 5TB external hard drives and later I would replace their backups too, if necessary. They don't have to be Thunderbolt 4 (fastest), but a faster setup I can plug in to the back of my Studio. Right now I have the externals on a Anker USB 3.0 hub connected to the USB 2 port. Would this connection make them be faster? https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Anke...+thunderbolt+4+adapter,electronics,133&sr=1-8
Sorry for so many questions!
Thank you!
Gloria
