hey ive got a 250gb external hd and i was wondering if say... i rename a picture on my internal hd, if i can get that picture i to rename and stuff on my external hd? sorta like having all my stuff backed up on my ex hd but not having to to update/change it every time i make a change or add a picture on my internal. get what i meen? if not just ask.

Live mirroring? Unless you can set up RAID 1 (or maybe 0, one is mirroring the other is striping) then basically no. You can use something like SuperDuper to periodically mirror the main drive to the backup, but it's not live.

No No No No No.

Mirroring or striping applies to a SET of disks. I'm not even sure you can do it with an internal and an external disk. Certainly both have to be the same size.

Striping makes 2 disks appear as one and stripes the disks. Mirroring makes 2 disks appear as 1 and mirrors changes to both drives.
