I have an old laptop hd which i have in an enclosure. The problem is the enclosure uses a Y-usb cable (think thats what its called - the cable that plugs into 2 usb ports on your comp) - you see where i'm going?!

Anyone know of an enclosure for a 2.5" sata drive which will work from just one usb port so i can use it with my soon to be macbook air?

Costco has a 250GB, 2.5" Western Digital Passport on sale for $139.00

I paid $129.00 for mine in the store.

I was in a similar position with an old 80GB drive. Depending on the size of your drive, it might be worth purchasing a brand new one instead of looking for an enclosure. Personally, I saw more value in spending $129.00 for 250GB than $30 for 80GB.

I think i'll stick with an enclosure - the drive is big enough. I've found an interesting looking enclosure here although i'd like to see it in person first as it has the potential to either look very very nice or 100% cheap and tacky - anyone seen it?

A more conventional case i found is this. it's got a very clean look which i like.
