Hello,

Have an iMac and also a pc.

Want to install, and use an external HD, a backup program for each.

Will use Time Machine on the Mac.

Not sure what to use on the pc; suggestions ?

Also,

When looking at the external HD's in Amazon, the WD ones, they don't seem to differentiate
between which are for Mac's, and which are for pc's.

Does it matter ?
For each, the Mac and the pc, would I have to format (both) first ? if so, how please ?

Thanks,
B.

I recommend that you buy two hard drives, one for each machine. There is nothing Mac or PC specific about hard drives. You format them appropriately for the machine you intend to use them with--using DiskUtility for the Mac, and an appropriate utility for Windows.
