Hey everyone,

I've recently bought a Macbook (and loving it). The hard disk is unfortunately too small (60GB, couldn't afford an upgrade) to hold all my iTunes library of some 9000 songs so I bought an external hard-disk on eBay (cheaper). Is there a way of using iTunes to play the songs when the HDD is connected without having to import them everytime you turn on the computer, or will iTunes suss it out automatically and decide not to import the songs?

Just like to say how impressed I am with Mac OS X, I am a switcher and can't believe how many things that I sub-consiously hate about Windows that I used to take for granted. Now my life is changed forever!

Parker.

As EricNau says, its really easy. I've done it quite a few times of recent months due to lack of HDD space and upgrading. You may want to search for more topics as there have been a lot around this topic - its how I found out how to do it!
