External headset

I have an external headset with but the Mac isn't reading the mic when I plug it into the line-in port.

Any ideas in how to help?

Does the headset use two 1/8" jacks (one for the speaker, one for the mic) or is it a USB headset?

If your headset has the two 1/8" jacks then you will have to buy a amplifier for the microphone connection (like the iMic or buy a USB headset.

I bought a cheap one... but it doesn't work very well.

I guess I'll have to get that one.
