External iSight to iPhone?

that would be tight, but the problem that i see with it, is that the SDK restricts developers to access to the dock connector (or it did in the early releases, someone correct me if im wrong). so developers cannot develop an app that requires the dock connector input
Well...an old firewire cable wouldn't fit into an iPhone to begin with, no?
But as far as camera attachments go, I asked a similar question (more for videoconferencing) here.

well if you got a old ipod firewire cable, a female to female firewire cable, and an isight video camera, wouldnt it fit. idk if the date transmission would be screwed up but it would "fit"

idk about him, but i did it with a bike helmet, we were bike jousting, i wish i could find the video now
I was thinking about doing this for some biking footage. Never got around to it, didn't want to hard my camera. I imagine it would look pretty awesome though.
The iPhone can't be synced with a firewire cable (though it can be charged). So I'm guessing data wouldn't go through for an iSight.
I would buy an external camera for iPhone for shure
If the camera was small enough. I would use it for mounting to my helmet (dirt Bike) and keep my iphone safely stored away.
and, If it had a little led light plus a wand attachment, I could use it to find lost stuff like under the couch or to examine tight spaces (like lighting a pilot light or looking inside a motor)
I think a cam like this would sell easily for $99
