I have a new 2019 27" 5k iMac. I am thinking to keep the Photo library on an external drive. It's about 600gb and I don't want to fill the internal 1tb ssd drive...it would put me back where I was before the new iMac!.
I was looking at the Samsung t5 SSD external but for the same price I see LaCie has a 4TB USB-C "pro" drive with an enterprise grade HD. 4X More space and longer warranty but ....SSD vs HD. Using the USB-C connection would either drive work well using it to hold the photo library?
I would be using it with Photos and PS Elements (on the iMac's internal SSD). Would the difference in speed be a factor in use?...or could I even go to a "normal" USB-3 external HD?
Thanks of any replies/advice
