I have an SATA-USB3 adapter which works onder 10.10, but stopped working in 10.11.

In dmesg error log, there is a sequence of these messages that correspond to me plugging the device in:
000180.965994 SS01@14500000: AppleUSB30XHCIPort::resetAndCreateDevice: failed to create device after (1) tries, disabling port

Google search for AppleUSB30XHCIPort does not gain much info, majority is on an Hackintosh site.

Does anyone have any idea on the cause ot his, and possible fix ?

Thanks, Paul.

Update - the version 10.11.2, currently sent by App store if you do a Recovery Internet reinstall - it still does not fix the bug.

I am having a similar issue after updating to 10.11.2 beta. I have a USB drive that is part of a embedded processor where It would normally mount and show up as a drive so I can copy the firmware over to program but now all I get are similar messages and it will not mount. It doesn't even show up in a windows VM.
