..Ever since I moved my mac forward and the power cable fell out while it was on.
On restart the sound wasn't coming through my external speakers anymore. The sound does work through the TV my mac is hooked up to. I've checked it's on the right output & not on mute so its nothing to do with that.
Im hoping its a software thing & that I haven't fried the headphone jack although I'm running out of options.
Things I've tried to fix it:
1, Checked the channel matches the input channel in Audio Midi Setup Utility ( not sure if its just set to the wrong channel as that fixed a similar issue I had before when updating to sierra )
2, Reset SMC ( held the power button for 20s while power cable was disconnected then rebooted )
3, Reset PRAM ( waited for three chimes then released )
4, Deleted com.apple.audio.audiomidisetup.plist then restart
5, Deleted com.apple.systemsound.plist then restart
I have a Mid 2010 Mac mini 2.4GHz on Sierra 10.12.6 & im using it with some JBL Spot 2.1 speakers.
Any pointers for things to try would be greatly appreciated. Only things i can think of now are either repairing the disk or re-installing the OS but they seem drastic.
Cheers.
