Hey guys

I have the final version of windows 7 pro. I installed it without bootcamp. Also i run just windows on my imac alu 20".

After the correct install of windows 7, i installed the bootcamp drivers from the actuall snow leopard dvd.

Everything works perfect but the sound still comes out from the internal speakers of my imac... Oh dear...

I tried to fix the problem with the current driver from realtek... But same problem sound works perfect but only on the imac speakers...

When i pluggin the external speakers into the imac speakers connector the realtek software says to me connector where plugged in..

Has somebody the same problem?

I mean this issue sucks a lot...

thanks for your help...

regards nildo007

Who the hell buys a imac and shoves fat windows 7 on it? no offence to you but that is a bit stupid and a waste of a mac just use boot camp DAMN IT!

as for your speaker problem well thats fat windows for you:)

The speaker problem is not Windows, it's Apple providing poor audio drivers. I have this problem on my iMac as well as the Cirrus Audio driver problem with my MacBook Pro.

Anyway this is how I fixed this problem.

- I used the RealTekSetup.exe that came with my iMac, not the one from the Snow Leopard DVD. Hopefully you have that.
- Right click on it and select troubleshoot compatibility.
- Wait for it to finish detecting issues and then select that it worked with an earlier version of Windows.
- Select Windows Vista
- Let the installer run and your audio should work correctly. You may need to uninstall it if you already have it installed.

oh many thanks for your answer :)
...well i bought me a usb soundcard from speedlink.Only for a few bucks... To get a better sound cause sometimes the sound from the realtek card is quite scratchy...

I recommend the drivers from the snow leopard dvd cause the isight camera works pretty well on windows 7 with this drivers...
It's not a clever / fine move from apple to put only this stuff on the dvd's and don't publish the bootcamp.msi's on there website...

For graphics i use the current catalyst driver package:cool:

Otherwise if anybody use a firewire hdd use the legacy driver not the default one of windows 7 because the legacy works pretty well with full speed and the default one is slow as a zip drive....;)
