Heyo All
I went thru some of the post but could not find a satisfactory answer.
I got a 4TB external ssd in a very small form format, (size of a matchbox just 1/3 of the thickness) for about the same amount I would pay for the aluminium casing it is in.
However, as soon as I try to format it to OS journaled it will disappear. I will not be able to find it in disk utility, however if I give it to a windows person, they can use it and format for there file formats
So at the moment it is in exFat.
I want to use it as storage and possibly working volume for astrophotography. (no windows use)
It is connected via USB 3 to a MBP 2015, running 10.15.7.
There is the second part of the question.
I had the most terrible experience with monterey, where I could not open my own pictures, because the program suspected something wrong with them and had to virtually with every program and file, type in a sudo command to be able to use it. 🤬🤬
So I very reluctantly would look into a change of OS, if this would help in this case.
Every feedback and help would be much appreciated
